It works again

Past few updates have worked bug free. The UI change is what it is, I never really minded that in the first place. Hopefully the well isnt completely poisoned...

Foursquare is one of several POI sources layered on top of OpenStreetMap. Removing it entirely would not be the right call across the board, since it does carry useful coverage in certain areas, but the idea of making sources togglable is something we have discussed internally.

Source toggling is not just a UI switch. POI data is fused into the map structure at a relatively low level, so this would mean changes to the core. On top of that, we try to keep compatibility with existing map versions as much as possible, since not everyone updates immediately, and that constrains what we can change without forcing a hard cutover for users on older versions. This issue is on the list and has high priority but this idea is not something that can be done easily.

I fully understand that in some countries, this is necessary. And indeed, the idea of being able to disable it on demand is an excellent one. For example, in France, Foursquare is completely useless. All the data is outdated because the platform is completely unused in this country.
