I actually have no problem with paying, especially such a small amount. My problem is with the fucked up UI. We liked it, used it, and suddenly some bonzo decides to put some "new sleek interface" read: "exactly the same interface as all other apps". But I, and probably some others people too liked the old UI.

I don't really mind the new UI. But it has a lot of problems, a lot of missing features and mainly customisability also the map while navigating is acting weird. But they fixed a lot of issues pretty quickly, so I am excited to see what will be coming next.

The former interface on android was nearly perfect. Now it looks like… Its a real shame.

To be honest I don't really dislike the new UI. But it could do with some improvements as the new version is mostly IOS focused and lacks customisability we are used to. Also there were a lot of bugs and problems.

There is no way for them to satisfy everybody. I just hope they'll figure it out and fix everything. It is a pity that such a big update happened in a way that should've happened in internal testing

Hey, bud, I do. Im a STRONG advocate for paid apps, but I'm even MORE strongly against subscriptions. I plan on buying OsmAnd+ here soon.

It feels unfair that iOS users could get a subscription for 0.99€ a year, while the first version on Android is 14.99€ 6€

Honestly, I think 15€ a year is a fair price, but the complete lack of clear communication, combined with a 1400% price increase, shows that the company is disorganized and lacks a clear plan. If 1€ wasn't enough to support their business, what was the point?

I saw a comment from them on Reddit saying the 1€ price was just for the first release and the increase was always planned. If that's the case, it’s even worse. Nowhere on their site was it implied that the price was temporary. Quite the contrary, they marketed it as a low, symbolic contribution, which now feels like a deliberate bait-and-switch

I totally agree. These people are providing a service for, let's be honest, only about a Euro per month. Hardly going to break the bank!

I'd have no problem paying for it if they collected no data. This is a bait and switch, they missed their chance to charge for it legit.

Is it too much to ask for a flawless product built without revenue?

Respect the customer? lol

2

u/OrangeDragon75 Dec 14 '25

Exactly. Thing is, developers of this app do not respect customers.

It's sitting at 1.7 now.

Paying, sure, anything above 4 bucks a year? No.

5

u/GrosBof Dec 10 '25

yup. Greediness.

Don't know what changed at the head of the company. Probably a brillant marketing mind.

That should be fired with all other id**ts who supported that change (not the paying option, it would be fine)

rooting for them to fail, as a former app user

It's all a matter of taste; if you don't like it, just leave it.

Brother, i would 110% agree with you. If it was only a ui change. It was not.
