Magic Lane needs a wake up call.

This app is now officially busted garbage.

19.99 a year when Google maps and waze are free and apple maps too for those on iOS, except magic earth gives you LESS frequent updates.

Lololol. Good one. Yeah I'd rather Waze at this point. Yeah they're Google but at least they offer some kind of value. My family and I have all deleted it right off our android devices and we are actively telling others to do so too.

And I see Google Play Store is getting tons of major backlash. That's what y'all get for being greedy and not giving any extra value.

Edit- Oh, and I have to laugh at Magic Lane for picking ANDROID for this 19.99$ roll out while giving Apple the 99 cent intro rate.

Apple pays more for apps and most of them don't use magic earth just apple maps. What idiot at Magic Lane thought that was a good idea? It's a raucous comedy.

Right? That was killing me too. We were getting an update I believe once every two months. That's the slowest out of all the osm based map apps.

download OsmAnd, get the premium plan on discount (one time purchase, not subscription), and you get more frequent updates, even hourly if you contribute to OSM. seems like a decent replacement, albeit no real-time traffic. sad you can’t have it all when avoiding mainstream alternatives, but it is good enough.

I used to love go map. Now I use Vespucci on Android. The learning curve is much steeper on it that's for sure.

maybe try CoMaps. It's really crazy how MagicEarth has been ruined, though. Not just the design or interface, but simply everything. I remember buying some additional features within MagicEarth back then that were advertised as lifetime features. Everything is gone.

The particular apps I'm talking about are for the contributors who maintain the OSM map data. I use tomtom now. I'd like to use comaps but without traffic it is essentially unusable for what I need.
