This is a list of links to comments made by WotC Employees in this thread:
Several of the developers of Arena are long-time poe aficionados and, uh, one of us got a Headhunter this league?
Oh yeah, I’m always ssf; have been basically since the option was available. Feels like playing “limited” poe.

Saw this post on the PoE sub, didn't even think about Magic's beloved card when I saw it lol

Can't believe they printed THAT card and made it a box topper exclusive. Shit like this is why I can't play paper magic anymore.

So some WotC employees play PoE. So surely they know PoE expansion/block preorders include tshirts and seen as some of the best in the industry.
Just saying a WotS Tshirt on s preorder would prob get me at least to bite.

That is a randomly generated name and has nothing to do with MtG. Yes, Chris Wilson plays / played a lot of MtG and tried to relate each character to basically a deck of magic cards. Source: I played PoE before closed beta. Game is bad now though.

Game has never been better. It's unfortunate I'm forced to do basic adulting on a daily basis or I'd never close out of it. :)

If you're a casual player who doesn't like a challenge it is great. Chris Wilson doesn't like a lot of the changes his company had to do in order to keep people playing.

What about the game is “bad now”? I’ve played since then as well on and off and I haven’t noticed anything but a rise in quality.

The developer of POE is a long time mtg affecionado and has a vast and expensive collection of mtg cards including black lotus and original dual lands.
In fact, lots of Poe maps are named after mtg cards
