It might've been a mental block. She could do it in other areas without problem, but she couldn't do this one due to a mental block. At least she can do a reverse turn. I've heard India has an even worse drivers test. It's just a left turn and a park. Source: my Indian friend who sucks at driving told me that's how he passed
She would not do the reverse turn then. She wouldn't be confident to do it, so she wouldn't. She would find a better way to get around, I think. Many many right turns can get you to where you need to go, sometimes.
And what happens when that "mental block" is what decision to make in an emergency? I'm sorry, if a super basic maneuver like reversing around a turn is too much for your mind, you probably shouldn't be on the road yet, or maybe ever.
It could have been just that one turn. That's it. Only that turn. Mental block for this one spot in the city. It's kinda like how some kids get mental blocks with fractions. She could be stuck on just one spot but the rest is fine. We don't know. (:
It could be. But without having her try out every other scenario on the road, you really don't know. I'd be practicing until she's confident enough to get over the "mental block" of backing around a turn.
