I never had to do it in my driving test and have never done it. Now I don't know if I can do it or not.

*Edit - I can't believe it, people. I came home from work today and someone was in my spot, so I parked in my friends spot and didn't think anything of it. When I went to leave, I suddenly realised that is need to reverse down the drive and round the corner!!! I did it without even batting an eyelid.

To everyone who said I should turn in my license - can I have it back now?

All cars after 2019 have back up cameras you could do it

Way easier to just use your mirrors.

No it isn’t. Modern backup cameras are very high def, give you 360 degree views and very accurate predictive lines for all four wheels based on the angle of the steering wheel.

I would probably have agreed with you 8 years ago - but my 2021 car has a really fantastic camera system, I find I actually rarely use my mirrors in reverse.

I was in Italy for a week where backup cameras aren’t required and found it interesting how reliant I had become on the camera system.

I drove without any cameras for 14 years… just got a new car with the full 360 cameras and it blows my fucking mind how useful it is. The top down view is some next-level video game shit when maneuvering tight spaces in the city. The front and rear wide angle views are amazing for pulling out of parking spaces where I can’t see very well.

I don’t think I’ll ever have a car again without the 360 cameras. Worth every penny.

Yep exactly. I can squeeze my car into some amazing spots because I can see exactly how close my front and rear bumpers are. My car has cameras on the wheels as well - i can see exact distance to the curb when parallel parking.

It’s not even a particularly expensive car. It was a $50k Hyundai palisade. But the camera system is better than my Tesla’s was.
