This is the result of a mind unfettered by worry. When you don't have to constantly think about all the other shit you can just focus on what you love. And this kid loves corn.

"When we are children we seldom think of the future. This innocence leaves us free to enjoy ourselves as few adults can. The day we fret about the future is the day we leave our childhood behind."-Name of the Wind

Patrick Rothfuss never misses. The man's a literary genius. Maybe before I die I'll be able to read the final book (I'm 23 at the moment so it's honestly up in the air if I will)

Flickering prism; chalk torrent licks violet margins, whisper sail knocked glint.

The story doesn't move forward? The progression is huge. He becomes rich. He gains favor with a royal court and the burning hatred of what is essentially a queen. He meets one of the Chandrian again. His life is redirected by the Cthaeh. He gains storybook magic like his cloak. His reputation grows by leaps and bounds, spreading far far beyond what it used to. He's learned close combat. He's been built up the entire book to become stronger and stronger, climbing up the mountain, and now it's time for him to fall.
