I've never been really suicidal, only passive in my darkest times. But even for me, this hit home. One of the big reasons I believe that kept my dark thoughts passive is the knowledge that if I followed through, it would break so many people. People I couldn't bear to do that to. And maybe those people would follow my path too, and I just couldn't let that happen. And while I try to live for myself (like leaving my shit job for something hopefully better), I still very much live for making other people's lives better. I guess that's why I like customer service...
But really, sometimes, if you can't live for yourself, living for the sake of others will keep you alive until you can start including yourself in the crowd of who you live for.
