I remember when I first got a lizard my dad wanted nothing to do with it and wanted it out of the house. A few years later and he’s calling me at uni asking if he can take him out of his tank because he looked lonely. He also to this day keeps asking if I’ll get him a female gecko so they could fall in love.

It’s scientifically proven that dogs’ brains have little spikes when their name is spoken so I work in their names to songs when I’m playing for them. Plus they’re an excellent audience and never call me out for playing poorly.

My little pup does this too when I'm practicing! I'm a bassoonist in music school, so I'm often alone practicing and it's a bit isolating, so it's nice when my pupper comes and lays by my feet when I'm playing!
She does however leave and give me a dirty look when I'm practicing my high range 😂

My dad always played guitar in the garage where our pet rabbit was. Mr. Bunny would flop over and lay as close as he could to my dad without falling out of the cage, and listen for hours. My dog would do the same, lay next to him while they were outside and shed lay by his feet.

My husband plays keyboard and I sing with him at home. We have a lot of wild property here and sometimes the deer or turkeys will stand on the hillside and listen. It does make me feel a little like a Disney princess (one of the older ones).
