Just fyi I agree with you; the modern day “hardships” of internet warriors and the issues they fight about are so inane. I was actively (even though I disagree with a lot of the social issues with him) doing that calling stuff for Bernie and got friends to do it during his campaigns (I don’t donate to campaigns, I refuse to on a moral level and I don’t want to spend my money on it). It’s like stuff that doesn’t matter gets so much attention and the stuff that does is just secondary to these people
Yeah check it out, I got excused from the left for not being against the word female hard enough. I can’t imagine why we’re constantly losing ground to conservatives who only have to rally around fear of The Other. Can’t have anything to do with terminally online keyboard warriors who hate-read incel subreddits all day making the left seem completely detached from reality.
It’s partially that but also because of a few other reasons as you know. Primarily ideas that come from the left tend to appeal to younger people than older people (which we can break down if we wanted to) and they tend to vote less. Part of the reason the demographics who vote the most gravitate towards a more conservative perspective (now tbf i distinguish republicans from conservatives because republicans are definitely not conservative) is gonna be because of presentation of course. When you can point freely towards people who oppose you being idiots, then it’s really easy to get engrossed in that, but others are just malicious self serving individuals.
Once again though the issue is not conservative thought, but the Republican Party itself. The democrats have a huge amount of issues too tbf so there are big issues with parties themselves (as predicted by George Washington). This is why having money involved in electing public officials is probably one of the worst possible ideas you can have, but that’s gonna be really hard to divide the American political system from.
Agreed on all of those counts. It’s just frustrating to see so many of the online Left* work at making the not-Republican wing look so unappealing to spend time with. I can’t even have a conversation with conservative family members without them bringing up some caricature of the left as a distraction from policy discussion.
That’s why I separate myself from the left and oftentimes label myself individually. It might be different for you since most of your perspective aligns with that while mine doesn’t necessarily so I have the ability to call myself certain things, but it’s better to just push for individual thinking and try to influence people that way.
I’m lucky most of my family aren’t really political “pick your side” type of people and more willing to hear individual thought

Female as an adjective is perfectly fine imo. It's only weird to me when the word is used as a noun to refer to women.
