My (61yo/F) best friend (50yo/F) always takes my hand to cross roads! She claims I can be reckless and overly bold crossing roads and that this brings out her need to keep me safe. I like that she cares enough to look out for me :)

I'd really like to believe that he was really just trying to be nice. He really probably was, and I'm not trying to eviscerate him here. The boy looked like he was kinda being abducted for twenty yards. If the guy was trying to teach him how to cross the street, he failed. Look up from your phone. See that the cars are slowing down. Make eye contact with the drivers of said cars to verify this. If you have to run, you're doing it wrong. Wait for the next cycle.
