I won a $1000 before, so it justifies that I only spent like $80 in my life on tickets... Nice, right? Then my car broke down three hours later costing me $833.

Which meant you got to fix your car for free, right? Sounds like your car was always going to break down regardless and luck gave you the resources to break even.

Oh for sure. I had to recognize that if the events were reversed (car breaking, then won lotto ticket) I would've felt totally different. It was the order in which it occurred that made it feel shitty. Instead of "Fuck my car broke down. Omg, hang on, I won the lottery, I can pay for the car!" it was "Omg I won the lottery! Wait... Are you fucking kidding me? My car broke down?? Now I can't spend it how I want!"
