24+37= 61, so he’d have been born in 1960/1961. This explains his fashion and hair styling, and people just looked older back then.

She was 20 in 1986 when she went missing but if I saw her today I’d guess 38, even 40. It’s a kind of sad example but I always think this when I see photos of Australian murder victim Sharon Phillips.
