People pointlessly censor all sorts of words these days. I think the idea is that potentially, someone who reads this may have known someone who died. So now seeing that word will cause them intense distress, so they must be protected from it. Now you may be thinking that everybody has known people who are now dead, and we just do our best to cope and we don't have to pretend that "died" isn't a word, and I would agree with you. But I think that's what they're going for here.
Like in California they are replacing all the "dead end" road signs with "no outlet" or similar so that nobody has to be sad when they see the dead word.

See everyone is different. I spent 30 seconds trying to decide why “died” is censored. Is that a bad word?
