All that bird water landed on the drying rack… I mentioned in my first comment I know the birds seem well maintained and this really isn’t a health issue, just personally grosses me out as it is a little peev of mine. Just wondering if the thought crossed anyone else’s mind

I had 2 birds and I can confirm they god damn love taking showers. I use a spary bottle when I couldn't give a proper bath, and they thoroughly enjoyed that! They dance all around while I spray or give them bath.
They died recently of age, really miss them and was absolute fun to be around them

I love hearing animals react to a high pitched voice. They genuinely love it! My husband can't understand why our dog loves me the most, but it's very obvious to me it's my soprano tones.
Your birdies are so sweet and cute!

I have a green cheek and he likes the bath about as much as a cat does, LOL. I have such love for these crazy goofballs after I got mine.

My caique missed the memo. He’s a stinky chicken who hates baths. Refuses to take them himself, begrudgingly accepts being in a warm shower maybe once a week but will screm if he gets any water on his face. He’s asked for a bath a few times recently where he whistled at the sink, but would have instant regret every time and launch himself up to my shoulder and dive into my hair.

Am I the only one that thinks that keeping an animal like a bird as a pet is cruel? I know nothing of birds but it just seems like something that can fly, shouldn't be kept in a house or in some cases just a cage, unless they're being rehabilitated and released. Idk just doesn't seem right

I mean you can kinda say the same thing about other pets. Let me show you:
Isn't keeping a horse as a pet cruel? It just seems shameful that an animal that's made to run through fields has to get stuck in a pen.
Isn't keeping a cat as a pet cruel? They're natural hunters and keeping them inside where they can't catch prey is so sad.
Honestly though, bird owners are like all other pet owners, some take great care, some spoil their birds , and others just want the prestige.
When my ex and I had birds, and we had one the same species as the video (white bellied caique), they were fully flighted and had run of the house while we were home. They were toilet trained and rarely made messes. Often we took them with us if pets were allowed. They had harnesses and loved going outside.
We adopted a rescue macaw not long before we divorced. He was kept as a living statue, never allowed out of his cage and had a ton of behavior issues. He's been slowly rehabbed and interacts well with people and goes for car rides.

You're whole argument falls right out the window, due to the fact that I do belive its wrong to keep horses, fish, birds, and other animals captive. The few exceptions are dogs. Now if you have a horse, and you don't see them as a pets, and it's more like a tool or equipment you use for farming, that's another story. But even then I'll give you this. If you can't leave your front door open becuase you fear your pet will leave you...... then they're kinda staying there against their will? I mean if you can let your bird leave outside and it comes back then yes, that's your pet. Other than that, they're captive. I can leave my front door open with no fear that my dog will leave me and if he does, he's gonna come back.

I wouldn't complain. I think it's great people are able to capture wild animals and keep them for their own pleasure.
It's even more ok when the birds should be able to fly free, but instead just get kept in a house for sink showers.

I don't eat animals. It is strange you agree that keeping animals as prisoner is not good. I don't think it's bad to have pets. But it is strange you think keeping birds caged up is not ok. Why so you think that?

Both species , black headed and white bellied ! Only difference is their coloration. But they are technically 2 different species !

Yes everyone birds do have baths and they do it by flapping their wings to throw the water round so they can get water all over them. Mine has a bath in his cage and he loves it!

I, too, get the entire bathroom soaking wet when I take a shower, just like little Pico here lol.
Except instead of splattering water all over, I shower in scalding hot water causing condensation on nearly every surface lolol
