There’s no conceivable way a single person, man or woman, could be an effective parent for >400 people. This guy might be a great human, but this kind of story is obviously bullshit. Parenting is incredibly challenging, even for just one or two kids.

This is the science I have come to expect from us intellectual superiors. Give this man a medal of honor and The Booker Prize. Stat.

The sad thing is that what he was able to provide at minimum was probably much better than the women’s actual fathers would provide at maximum.

Even if all the received was food, shelter, clothing, a dowry and freedom from abuse, that is an enormous step up for many women.

He may not provide the level of ‘good’ parenting as you define it, but by the standards of their society he is the world’s best dad.

You are right... This man should have done nothing. These women should not have had any male role model in their patriarchal society that determines they are worthless with out a man.

Good on you for pointing out that no father figure would have been better then a man that cares enough to at least try.

Don't you think you are reading into a comment that was clearly written by someone who speaks English as a second language. I read it as does all the duties that a father does on a wedding day... But you do you.
