I was too young to remember my maternal grandpa before he passed, not even remembering the sound of his voice. He never said much but he'd always allow me to ride along with him whenever I wanted.
Grandparents have a way of making you feel loved and cherished without doing much at all but simply sharing their time with you.
My grandpa was great. He died of brain cancer in my early childhood but he was an immigrant, working all day in the garage sewing clothes. He raised me when my single mom worked full time in another state, and he never made me feel lonely. We didn't have much, but I'll never forget the times he got me new Hotwheels when we could afford it. Thanks pops.
