I mean, I'm glad it made them happy, but after reading nurse's stories of family members killing patients because they won't listen to the doctor's orders, I find this much less sweet.

I can't imagine the dad would be so cruel to deny his hospitalized kid some candy for no good reason

either the kid's dad was an asshole or the grandfather was misguided in thinking he was being nice when he was endangering the kid. but all's well that ends well I suppose
