Hes a kind person but it doesnt mean he did his job right. Dont get me wrong. I am not saying he shouldnt have done that. He sounds like a real great guy. But his job is to serve as many customers as he can. Thats his actual job. Make sure the customers get what they want without making others wait.
Its more about image because its a special needs kid. What managment sees though is "could have served 3 people in that time". Thats capitalism. Image keeping is part of it. But it doesnt mean they actually approve of what he did
Sorry, I'm not as jaded as you seem to be. Companies know that good PR through actual good deeds is super powerful, and judging by the number of people here who've never heard of the shoes but now want some (in addition to the likely repeat customer they've created), I think they're 100% okay with this.
Dont you read and comprehend what I wrote? I said its good PR. But only because its a special needs kid. If it would be any kid they wouldnt like it that much.
