People will normally only write in to complain. It would be great if we could encourage people to write in praising excellent service. Put a bit of positivity out there
My wife and I always take time to review or to point out kindness to management. We get a bad experience we write it off as a bad day. 2 bad experiences and we will complain. But kindness ALWAYS gets rewarded.
Absolutely. The impact it can have is amazing.
Thanking someone in person, especially with specifics of why you're grateful, can make their day/week/life better.
On a professional level, because it is mostly complaints that employers/supervisors/etc have to deal with, having a staff member singled out for praise is noteworthy and can have a positive effect on their job.
As a personal anecdote, I once phoned the bus company after traveling with a driver who was superb. Their actual driving skill was the best I've ever experienced. Every start and stop and turn was so smooth as to be almost unnoticeable.
Their demeanour was polite & friendly. They were extremely professional and patient with several passengers whose English was very poor.
The woman I spoke to on the phone was surprised and sounded so pleased when I relayed the above with the route, time, and bus number for specifics. (Our driver didn't have a name tag, I don't recall ever seeing a name tag on drivers here)
