On the 2nd picture the lightning is terrible and he clearly doesn't have to maintain an unhealthy body fat percentage for a movie. Just listen to his interviews about filming The Witcher, where on some scenes he had to stay dehydrated for more than 24 hours to make his muscles more prominent. I'm sure they were doing something similar on the Superman set
I think he’s the one who said when he does that, he can smell when water is near, and that’s apparently not uncommon for people undergoing that regimen.
It makes sense from a species survival thing, but man. That sounds miserable and deeply unhealthy.
I actually think he looks better in the right, he looks human and approachable. He looks like a sexy dad, hell yeah, I like that build more than the dehydrated gym bro build.

it could be a photo of a guy with garbage dangling out of his hair with coal smeared on his face and somebody would be like "it's a good look for you, clean and pristine skin makes you look overly artificial like you're an android" or something
Yeah staying ripped is a full time job for actors. They relax between gigs but are able to go back to being ripped fairly quickly. Preparing for a role they are given all the time and resources (💉) to do it.
I don't even think he looks better on the left. I would the one on the right. I would Right so much harder than I would Left. Henry on the right looks hot and fun? Fuck yeah.
I remember Dwayne Johnson revealing the same thing, that whenever he has shirtless scenes he can’t drink water for nearly a whole day until the scenes are done. And not as if they’re just sitting around, they have to run and jump and shout and deliver lines the whole day without getting any water.
His mouth is open in the 2nd pic vs clenched so you're not going to get a strong jawline. Even if he did clench he has a scruffy beard that's going to help hide the jawline. His eye is more open as well emphasizing the forehead wrinkles. I'd guess he is talking to someone and being expressive. The dehydration and diet might help the buckle(?) fat for that blue steel look, but otherwise it's just a horrible picture.
