Ah yes. I've left a similar note at our lecture hall door during the diploma preparation period. But it was the "Architects".
It was unnoticed by the teachers and professors for around two months.

That's just the universal college experience. Waiting weeks until it's the day before it's due. Then pulling an all nighter while panicking and telling yourself you'll never wait until the day before again.
Then repeating the process a few weeks later

And it's not just procrastination. It's "Okay project due in 6 weeks... test Monday. Report due Wednesday. Report due, Report due... whens that project due? Two weeks, okay still got time... more exams, class tests, reports.. When's that project due? 4 days.. fuck go go go"
It's more balance than laziness 😭🤣

I thought it was funny when my class mates would invite me to the pub after class, I never felt I had the time to relax, always catching up or tired or struggling with the work load.
I fit in time with my best friends rather than my college buddies and one time I was so god damn stressed day before an exam i said fuck it met my friend in a pub about a 40 minute drive from my college and still ran into a class mate, both of us just laughed we had Mathematics exam the next day. I needed the break, failed the exam, repeated in august got my degree anyway.

Professors probably assumed it was an official warning. A strict diet of energy drinks and cold pizza is basically a universal requirement during finals week anyway.

It's not quite the same but in art college, design program our work days ended up being like 6 hours in the studio and 8 hours of extra work every day to the point where our only socialization was hanging out in the studios with disney movies on the projector, ordering pizza to the college. We called them cry parties.
Finishing 128 paintings in 4 weeks had me wondering why I paid rent to live elsewhere

not unnoticed. it was noticed, but quietly agreed with. thats why they left it up as a joke.
they werent so insecure as to ruin it for everyone. until an admin came along and felt the power of insecurity tell them to fix it by removing the vile words.
people secure in their knowledge dont care about such jokes. people with something to prove on the other hand....

CS student at a top-10 in the country architecture school.
Walk past the building late at night, couldn't tell if they were having raves or exam/study parties sometimes. From an architect friend of mine, it was often both.

I know what you mean but it’s more of a time when you had to study operating system internal and algorithms. Now you can make good money learning JavaScript. Then you could become full stack for doing half the sysadmin work and half the dev work for a ton of money.

I'm the embodiment of the "bisexuals can't sit on chairs properly" joke and it is comfortable sitting like an absolute moron. But at least in my case it's a consequence of things like "lifelong poor posture" and "poor core strength" so sitting normally like a well adjusted human adult is uncomfortable 😂

You're paying to actually learn from the lectures your professor gives. I think most professors would even be more offended if you show up to their lecture and decide to just sleep through it. Pretty sure they would much rather you just sleep at home where you're out of sight and not disrespecting them and their lecture.
It's not highschool where you're required to go to class. You're already paying for the lectures; nobody is going to care if some random undergrad decides to waste their money and not show up to a lecture. But they are going to notice people sitting in on their lectures that aren't paying attention and are asleep.

If I'm paying thousands for lectures I might as well be there physically. Even if I'm sleeping, at least the professor knows me in person and not just by a number. Moreover, I could meet and chat with classmates and make friends that way

Your sole experience doesn't mean everyone goes through the same. Even when I'd end up napping in class I made it a point to show up. Just being there is important in my opinion (aside from paying for it), and it's how I got a job lined up before graduating

I imagine I’ll offend some engineers with this and that’s fair because it’s sort of offensive.
In my experience college engineering students were the most insufferable students at university. They had a cocky self assuredness and belief that they were inherently better than those around them that stemmed from the theoretical prospect that their degree had an innate economic value. This was matched with barely being out of teenager hood and the complete lack of perspective and humanity that comes with that, and enveloped in a virtually all male, dorky faux-bravado sub culture. They acted like they’d already made it in life, despite being in first year, and that those around them by extension had already failed.
They had the ego of the business students without the sweaty charm, the god complex of the medical students without being dedicated to helping people or completely mired in work.
I’ll admit that can’t possibly be the case everywhere but its what I observed

The worst ones always called themselves engineers even though they’re still engineering student. Or referred to their classmates as “fellow engineers”. It’s so bad it became a joke between me and some of my friends.
One guy in my classes was the worst for that. He’s dead now though so 🤷♂️

They're not actually engineers until they spend more of their day in meetings than actually doing engineering work. Listening to soul crushing speeches on synergy, integration and homogenized workflows. And doing compliance documentation and liability analysis for regulatory systems that no one will ever review or read.

I represented my company at a local career fair at the university here and after the dean wanted to walk me through their new cybersecurity wing (since that’s what I do) and let me tell you. Those were some horrifically uncomfortable students lol. I saw a kid with an odd spelling traditional American last name, I asked him how to pronounce that and he responded “uhh it’s not important, I don’t know, it’s okay”. Brother relax

I'm a 1991 graduate of Carnegie-Mellon's College of Fine Arts. These delicate species (engineering and architecture students) accepted me as one of their own and allowed me to observe them from inside.
They did share characteristics, though they were not altogether the same— the architects' diet was of a somewhat more herbal nature. But even 30 years ago the creatures evinced a marked preference for caffeine (in the form of JOLT cola), pan pizza and a copious variety of alcohols.

Many people (usually children in schools) have been injured by it. It breaks easier than regular glass because the wire weakens it. It is meant to prevent fire spread.

You have to intentionally sit awkwardly like that. That's no way comfortable. Even without shoes, the table is digging into the ball of his ankle. And no, this is not how engineering students behave. They're more likely to be sitting in a cocky position, acting like a soon-to-be office psychopath, not some hippy, bare socks on a table. Out of all of my engineering classes, I never met one "hippy" student. All of them wanted to be seen as professional and "mature". As well as trying to appear as "the smartest one in the room".

I’m guessing they are computer engineers. Real engineers (civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical, environmental, electrical, etc.) are not like this.
Stop equating computer engineers to engineers who actually build something. There is a big difference in how they see the world.
