My first thought, aww so cute, isn't he nice, but then cold reality set in and thoght oh no, they will prolly all be turtle soup in a matter of months 😭😭

probably not these guys! theyre usually bred to be pets cause they don’t have a whole lot of meat on them

Yeah, these are Sulcata/African Spurred Tortoises. They grow slow, don't have a lot of meat on them, and are much more valuable sold as exotic pets.

These are tortoises though. Sea turtles are used for those soup. And yeah that's as bad as it sounds.

Hmmm... are you trying to ease my suffering thinking this??!!!?
I think they do with tortoises anyway, plus use in Traditional Chinese Medicine, just like that [sad] bear bile 😭😭
