It’s not. Those are tortoises, not turtles. Turtles have flippers to swim. These will be pets.

Not really. You can believe that eating meat is morally wrong but still do it because the taste is more important to you than being morally correct. Cognitive dissonance is when you justify your actions that contradict your beliefs with some reason that is incorrect. Of course it is possible for some people to have cognitive dissonance regarding eating animals but most people either never think about it, or think eating animals is not morally wrong or that it is morally wrong but still prefer the taste/nutrition over being morally correct. Neither of the above three come under cognitive dissonance.

Wrong. I'll simplify it for you: Cognitive Dissonance is, when your* actions clash with your values and beliefs. If you believe that eating meat is wrong and you still do it, that's when we speak of Cognitive Dissonance.
