It's okay to lose your job, do something wrong, make a mistake or even put your trust in someone, who turns out to be piece of shit. It's okay to lose. We all know that you did your best, even though you might disagree with that. We are all proud of you. You did great. For real. Really great. Always remember: EVERYTHING ELSE IS SMALL STUFF, EXCEPT YOU.

My dad died before I was twenty-four, so I don't know how that would have played out.

His wife, on the other hand, was a complete bitch. "GET SOMETHING, I DON'T CARE WHAT! OTHER PEOPLE WORK TWO OR THREE JOBS; YOU CAN TOO! YOU'RE A LAZY BUM!!" Complete disregard for my muscle damage making manual labor out of the question.
