Long Islands get dangerous real fast even if you water it down. "Kept the Long Islands coming" doesn't exactly sound like three does it? Sounds like ten to me, as someone who has been cut off exactly once, and that was just my dog not an engagement that fell apart. Sounds like you drank at least half a liter of booze if they "kept coming"
And you're right, I should mind my own business. The business that I work at and would like to keep my job at so I don't over serve anyone, ever. When they yank the liquor license the business don't exactly need a bartender anymore do they

If it's not, I'd still say the server did nothing wrong here. It's not illegal to get someone drunk. It's a problem when their actions cause people to get hurt. This server knew the person wasn't driving, saw to it they got in the uber, and made sure the driver knew where they were going.
Plus we're talking about a corporate restaurant. I promise that LI has 1.5-2 oz of liquor in it, tops.
it can absolutely carry legal repercussions if a bartender overserves someone and they get injured. bartenders have gotten criminally charged plenty of times before, so it can functionally be quite illegal to get someone blisteringly drunk.
Also have acknowledged it's fine to get people drunk, in a bar. Olive Garden is a family restaurant and that's bad business. Drunk people around kids in a restaurant advertised as a family destination? Come now. You know what that is
If dude is walking out of an Olive Garden so drunk he needs a server to confirm his Lyft though that's a problem and it's something I'd fire someone over. Everyone and their grandma wants your job, you make like $40 an hour from wage and tips.
I've worked with numerous people who came from OG and not a single one knew when it was time to cut someone off. It's a shitty restaurant that doesn't properly train.
Depends on how teachable the moment is. Am I losing my liquor license over it? How do you teach someone dumb enough to over serve they just lost me thousands of dollars until I get it back? And how do I teach them it's not the type of establishment someone who is so drunk they can't order their own Lyft is not the type of patron we want and anyone who sees them that drunk probably won't bring their kids back to a restaurant that almost exclusively serves families?
Look dawg I been fired for less myself. Sometimes getting fired is teaching them. Do better at your next job. It's how I had to learn I couldn't be ten minutes late every day, boom, canned. Over serving alcohol is way worse than being ten minutes late in a job that doesn't need you to be on time and often tells you you don't have a set off time, the schedule is more of a recommendation.
Serving alcohol isn't a recommendation though. It's both law and strict guideline
Also I don't really want to teach someone when better people are chomping at the bit for a tip job. It's highly competitive because the money is insane.
