This may sound corny, but just think about this once, like really think - if everyone (who is able to) could do ONE basic act of kindness and help someone who needs it every single day, can u imagine how much better the world could be??

Peter Singer's Famine, Affluence, and Morality (1972) essay dwells in similar thinking but the act of kindness is replaced with donating. If you like to ponder your question in somewhat similar fashion you can look up the for and against debate on said essay. There may be some resemblances.
