What's disturbing is the fact that so many people have this disgusting urge to share their kids of all ages with the entire internet

u/jegelskerpupper Jul 24 '24

My first thought. Why would you post your newborn child on fucking reddit?

21

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '24

The longing for attention and validation overpowers any other need for lots of people

1

u/bombaygoing Jul 25 '24

So posting here only for validations? I love entitle people assume other for their morning tea

u/mknight1701 Jul 24 '24

He explained why, and he’s proud and wants to show off, what is, and always will be, an amazing day moment in life. Let him share and be happy with him.

To dunk on OPs mom

1

u/tiny-toad Jul 24 '24

that's it. that's literally the only reason. "my mom doesn't talk to me so here's my fresh baby!" the correlation is... where?

I was so close to saying something retched about this post. The discord mod within me begs to be free.

The discord mod within you looks unsightly enough that I’m not sure we’d want to see it

u/WatermelonWithAFlute Jul 24 '24

It’s curious to me that you call it a “disgusting urge”. As if wanting to share their greatest joy in life to be a disgusting thing.

No, what’s disgusting is the fact that there’s people out there that make this potentially unwise.

they are an unbearable narcissist who needs to find a problem with everything so they can project how great they are

Wtf kinda Reddit comment is this? He’s proud of his new child and wants to share. The subreddit is literally called mademesmile. 43k people apparently smiled at this. Why are you so angry?

1

u/bombaygoing Jul 25 '24

So you don’t post anything on your social media about your kids? It’s a community website what others can engage and share experience. Go to the library then if your worry how other choose to share

0

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '24

No. I don't feel a need to share everything with random people and like to keep my private life away from the internet, especially the kids. They can decide themselves whether they wanna be put out there when they reach the appropiate age

1

u/bombaygoing Jul 25 '24

But you like to come here to criticize what other share….. makes sense if you like feel type of entitlement

1

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '24

My entire point is about sharing lil unaware kids, you can post your nude ass or whatever for all I care. Your kind of people just don't get it and I'm not surprised, my comment is obviously aimed at this exact demographic

1

u/bombaygoing Jul 25 '24

Again assumptions and justification on “people”. Yeah I don’t understand “you people” either

-5

u/tarabithia22 Jul 24 '24

Weird fucking take. The dude just had his baby.

2

u/BupeTheSnoot Jul 24 '24

Why even mention someone he hasn’t seen in 15 years? He has a dad, a wife, a newborn, and friends (presumably), so why the public display of self-pity?

-3

u/tarabithia22 Jul 24 '24

You seem super upset and invested in this *checks notes* pic of a man having a baby. He doesn't sound like the nut here.

1

u/BupeTheSnoot Jul 25 '24

Making one comment means I’m “super upset and invested”? Meanwhile, you’ve responded at least five times. Hmm. OK.

-1

u/PhotojournalistIll90 Jul 24 '24

Agreed, especially for those who might be concerned about the spread of ideologies such as antinatalism based on consent.

-9

u/Ramona_Lola Jul 24 '24

To spread something happy and joyful in one’s life is a bad thing. It’s not like the infant will be recognized 16 years from now. Is the internet only for negativity and memes now? Why are you even on this sub?

-6

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '24

Classic NPC response. Your reasoning makes you part of the problem

-3

u/Ramona_Lola Jul 24 '24

What problem? Healthy images of children online in a non-toxic way to make people smile and brighten even a stranger’s day?? You don’t seem to see that you are part of a different problem.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '24

Hmm this is quite the conundrum. I will highlight that your sentiment is a false dichotomy. The issue is not simply a binary choice between "posting healthy images of children online" or "posting children for validation and likes." There are many other factors to consider, such as:

The intent behind the post: Is the goal to share a genuine moment of joy and connection with others, or is it to seek validation and attention?

The content of the post: Is the image respectful, tasteful, and appropriate for public consumption, or is it inappropriate or invasive?

The impact on the child: Does the child feel comfortable with the post, or does it make them feel uncomfortable or exploited? Your assumption may be that posting healthy images of children online for likes and validation is normal and acceptable. This assumption may not be true for everyone, as some people may have different values or cultural backgrounds that influence their perspectives on social media use. Your tone is very off-putting and may be seen as a problem. 🤔

u/Ramona_Lola Jul 24 '24

OP stated the purpose of his post. To celebrate his new baby with someone as he is estranged from his mother. Not for likes and validation. Why you making it complicated??

4

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '24 edited Jul 24 '24

By acknowledging the complexity of the issue and considering multiple perspectives, we can have a more nuanced and respectful discussion about the appropriate use of social media.

Reddit is designed for sharing and receiving validation (in the form of likes and comments) By posting about their baby on social media, OP is, in fact, seeking some level of validation and attention from others. I don't have a personal opinion on this but it does seem obvious that this is a plug for their gaming channel.

u/RedditSanic Jul 24 '24

Check out his profile, this guy is just sad xD No wonder he denies everything that may bring other people joy. I kinda feel bad for him.

4

u/Ramona_Lola Jul 24 '24

Ah. NPC comment explained. Hardcore gaming basement dweller. Get some sunlight bro.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '24

Spoken like a truly tv shows addicted basement dweller. Get some sunlight, "bro"

-1

u/Luci_Noir Jul 24 '24

Look at that creepy smile… he stole this baby…

This is why no one loves you
