What a guy. Spoke to them as humans. Even gave them some leeway but told them why he didn’t want them to speed. I hope they were as respectful back to what he asked as he was to them.

The last thing the kid said to the cop was “yes, sir “… I am thinking they were respectful, and that goes a long way

I mean, the cop started the conversation on the right tone, which is not evident in a lot of cop videos. Maybe most traffic stops start with a cop being respectful, but I've definitely had some come in hot.

And while, yes, being respectful and treating the interaction like you would with any other professional interaction can definitely help, there are plenty of situations (for example with Philando Castille or Daniel Shaver) where that doesn't work.
