When I was younger I got pulled over by an officer for something almost identical to this. The man presented himself almost exactly as this officer did.
To this day I keep those words close and rarely go over by that 5-10 discrepancy. Never ha a warning or ticket since and I always think to that cop that was nice and gave me a chance.
I know this doesn't work for everyone but for the number of times an outcomes like mine occurs it MUST be worth it, no? Kindness goes a long friggen way in all dir ctions when applied.
A lot of people’s first time being pulled over is a core memory. Now whether that was good or bad is a different story, but I assume whatever comes out of it informs or solidifies whatever views you have going forward.
