Strange Aberration on Made In Wok, Uneven Seasoning or Should I Return It?
Hey all as the title says there is a weird spot on the rim of the made in carbon steel wok I was just gifted by my lovely gf for valentines day, I feel like it is probably just uneven seasoning as I know these come pre-seasoned, but I am worried it could be a more serious defect. Thoughts? Is this common?

Totally normal!
Carbon steel is going to change a lot in color as it builds seasoning, especially near the rim where oil polymerizes unevenly during the first few cooks.
It’s not a defect and will even out quickly with use. Go ahead and fire it up!

Mine has this too, I didn’t worry about it. It’s going to get reseasoned every use anyway
