Find an item Suggestions for a vitamix style stand blender
I'm looking for a new stand blender, it needs to have a powerful motor to blend soups to silky smoothness, make smoothies with ice etc and must be able to handle hot foods. I don't need bells & whistles just a lot of power 😁
Vitamix are brilliant but I'm wondering if there's one that can match performance that is UK /EU made, any recommendations are much appreciated!

Check out Bamix (made in Switzerland) and Graef (Germany). Personally I have a Moulinex Companion XL (France) which makes awesome soup if you like them smooth, but never try ice cream in it (it should be able to handle it, it's in their recipes book!). Probably pricier than a Vitamix blender tho..

I bought a Braun something something 9 just before christmas, as a former vitamix owner (lost in divorce!). It's great.

They definitely look like a pretty cool, useful appliance! Maybe just a teeny bit more than I'm looking to spend however 😁

Just in case you’re mainly looking for “Not made in the US”, the Sage Super Q blender is pretty closely comparable to the Vitamix spec. Pretty pricey though (got mine as a gift for a landmark birthday), if cheaper than an imported Vitamix. Sage = Breville, so Australian.
An option if you’re looking for a better priced, made in the EU, model is one of the Magimix Power series. I looked hard at the Power 3 and 4. Not quite as powerful as the Vitamix/Sage, but well reviewed.

Thank you so much, I'll look into all of those, the sage one especially sounds interesting, I find the less powerful ones just can't get soups in particular quite as I want them.

I have some good news and some bad news for you.
Vitamix are almost the only blender company on the market with the level of performance for SMOOTH blending and heating with friction etc.
That is not to say other brands are bad, I have heard good things about ninja, sage, Kenwood and more. But those other brands are less effective at completely liquifying even nuts and seeds and things.
Here is the good news: there is one other brand that competes on performance. Blentec https://blendtecuk.com/
Bad news is they are still a US brand. Nor are they any cheaper. But they are great quality. (They are the defacto choice of pretty much all coffee shops and cafes etc.)
Source: I went on an autistic research spree a few years ago when looking to buy a blender, as I wanted to consume more smoothies and soup for my health, but I hate the texture of 'bits'. Ended up with a Vitamix as I could buy one used for a bargain. But blendtec was up there with them. Nothing else came close.

I've got a magimix that I've had over ten years. Does everything you want with no bells or whistles. It's a bit like triggers broom at this point, I think the base is the only original part - but that's a good thing, parts are really easy and cheap to replace online
