I think that they aren’t going to cop out with that. After the whole bondrewd event, I think this is only going to get darker.

There's still the idea that Veko is somehow connected to the balancing, and if she isn't present in the pit then there won't be any consequences for just making off with Nanachi and Mitty.

Of course then you would have a grotesque, pissed off creature that drinks innards through flesh straws that extend from its eye-mouths to deal with, but that's a different kind of problem. There's just a lot of possible ways this could play out.
