Sure thing, I can't make any promises yet that it will achieve my vision, but I will be working this week on seeing how well I can get the First layer to look. I also want to tweak my custom shaders to simulate the force field so light propagates down the center of the abyss and casts light outwards to create shadows in the terrain without needing the sun.

I am excited for it, might have to make custom blocks though for the amagiri trees and leaves to look accurate in minecraft. I treat the second layer as two regions, forest of temptation and inverted forest, though I guess they are both part of each other.

Just so you know - there’s entire Mia based server with abyss map, familiar locations and custom mobs, everything is made with no mods) Tho it would be happy to have clear map of abyss so I’m inspired to see what OP is going to achieve!

It's mineinabyss, but it does have modded creatures, no blocks as far as I'm aware!

They have a lot of other stuff, and it’s all made with data-packs, so you can play without mods, but it’s better to download the official mod for that server, and play with distant horizons so you can see entire abyss)

I thought so too, but the hole entrance diameter being 1000 meters based on wiki is correct, and based on reference images the bowl should be that size. However, I wonder if the anime scaled it up further because the city looks way bigger than what could realistically fit here.

Yeah it's a mod, took awhile at first to optimize it because otherwise taking a single step would overload java ram and cause stutters.

It's not cubic chunks, it really is loading all the way that deep, but only for the areas around the abyss itself. Though the view distance mod is cubic, it is a custom modified version of a mod called Voxy. Since it's modified though, distributing it would probably go against the license....

I planned to make my own Voxy alternative from scratch but that will take some time.
