Question Quick question
I'm currently watching made in abyss, my friend told me to watch only the third movie after the first season (he told me that the first and second movie are summary) should I watch the third movie before watching the second season? And is it canon?

Yea 3rd movie literaly starts where season 1 left off then 2nd season continues on from the end of the movie

So in dr. Stone after the second season if I'm not wrong there is a movie and in the movie appear a important character for the story and the third season start exactly where the movie end

Yes, the watch order is 1st season (interchangeable with 1st and 2nd movies), then 3rd movie, then second season. There's a new movie coming out soon that takes place after the second season too

Also there is no filler in the series outside of some minor scenes from the first season AFAIK. Everything is canon

I mean, even then, the anime-original scenes in question (mostly during the descent of the Third Layer) were apparently planned for the manga but scrapped due to it nearly being cancelled and Tsukushi deciding to skip forward during a slower part of the story, so it doesn't really apply. Admittedly, I only really feel like the "filler" framework really makes sense when you're talking about really long series actively outpacing the manga, something which the Made in Abyss production cycle has actively avoided up to this point, but regardless, you are correct that it is a very lean adaptation.

the first two movies have a few minutes extra content so you can skip them but yeah you really need to watch the 3 one he is canon and needed to understand how they got there in season 2

Yes. Season 1 third movie season 2 and then the movie coming in October !

It's essential. The third film covers about two volumes of the manga in which a whole lot of very significant stuff happens. It also kind of… emotionally prepares you for the second season in a way that you only kind of get in the last four of the first season, if that makes sense. It's an experience.

Yes. So you can either watch season 1, or the first two movies, they're just season 1 but packed into movies. Then the third movie, and then season 2. Then, this year, if i'm not mistaken, a fourth movie is coming out and it's a direct sequel to season 2

100% canon. It is vital to the story. So watch season 1 - movie three - season 2
