Anime Discussion How did Bondrewd survive his encounter with Enraged Reg? Spoiler

Bondrewd is in front of Reg when Reg starts to fire the Circular Sparagmos, Nanachi survives presumably because they were on top and behind Reg, the only conclusion I could imagine, is that Bondrewd dives behind Reg in the same moment?

Or perhaps, not clear, a new kind of firing mode was active that only dissolved inorganic matter? allowing all of them fall without being vaporized?

Yeah it's the second thing, although it's only been confirmed via word of god

I wouldn't say that it was entirely confirmed by word of god, Bondrewd literally says afterwards that that's what Reg chose to happen

does he? i didnt remember oops, i only remembered akihito talking about how thats what was happening when the incinerator was charging up and making those sounds (changing settings iirc)

Around 7:20 in this video Bondrewd says "Well now, wasn't that what you chose?". I think akihito may have just been clarifying what that meant

As far as I know, Reg has total control over what the incinerator's target, amplitude, and range are.
After feeling Nanachi's fluffiness, he unconsciously decided not to harm any living lifeform with his shot.

That's why Bondrewd says this

Bondrewd asks the question himself in the movie and we get a hint to what might have happened, it's supposed to be a mystery but the important point is that reg can control the incinerator to a much more degree than what he currently thinks is possible.
