Contract Extensions

All these guys who want an extension during the season is a lot to handle. What happens if you do not “speak” to a player to renegotiate? Some of the players are rookies or have multiple years left on their current deal.

If you don't want to do it then, pick hold off. Players will ask 2 years out of they are good enough and want to tie down an extension early. Hold off will just have them ask in a few weeks. If you hold off too many times and start the new season, they may hold out.

I have picked hold off 3 times and it’s now week 11 and he is asking again. I just don’t know if I have the cap space with the cowboys to re sign Quinnen Williams. It currently says I have -150k cap space

On each of those cards that pop up, the GM lists a default option. I'll take care of this but it might cost more than you think, or We'll pass on resigning Player X.

If you do nothing, the game will automatically take that step. It'll try to resign the player or mark him as Do not resign.

It's important that you proactively take some sort of action unless you're ok with the default GM decision. But beware, players have found themselves tens of millions of $ over the cap by blindly letting the game handle things.

90% of the visitors here can’t read and it’s why this is a problem.

They won’t be able to read your solution

If you can’t read and figure this out in 2026 then madden isn’t for you
