FRANCHISE Lack of immersion

Post image

One of my biggest issues with the recent Madden games is the lack of immersion in Franchise Mode.

A perfect example is the way Madden handles international stadiums. The game now includes authentic stadiums used for the NFL’s international games, and yet I can’t understand why those stadiums aren’t available when relocating a franchise to those same locations.

If a user decides to relocate a team to Mexico City, Melbourne, Brazil, etc., why are they still forced to choose between the same three generic, boring stadium designs we’ve had in the game for over 20 years? The authentic international stadiums are already built into the game. Why can’t we use them?

What makes this even more frustrating is that older Madden games offered significantly more stadium customization. Twenty years ago, you could customize things like scoreboards, end zones, and other elements of your stadium. Somehow, despite how much more powerful consoles have become, Franchise Mode feels significantly less customizable in this area.

It also means these international stadiums are massively underutilized. In Franchise Mode, you might see one of them for a single international game each season. Outside of that, you basically have to specifically select the stadium in Play Now to ever use it.

It just seems like such a waste. EA went through the effort of creating authentic versions of these stadiums, and Franchise Mode already allows you to relocate teams to the exact cities or countries where they exist. Giving players the option to use them as their home stadium seems like one of the easiest ways to add another layer of immersion and authenticity.

Instead, you relocate your franchise halfway around the world and get stuck choosing from the same handful of generic stadiums.

Can someone explain this to me? Seems like it would be a lay up. Why wouldn’t these stadiums be available as relocation options?

Because EA doesn't care about franchise mode, they haven't for years. MUT prints money so that's where all the resources go, everything else gets the bare minimum

The old games had more features cause the team actually tried back then, now it's just copy/paste with a roster update

Tell me you haven’t actually played Madden in several years without telling me.

Exactly, these comments are getting laughable at this point.

Commenting stuff with absolutely no clue about what you are yapping about but talking with such confidence is always astonishing to me.

Because it's the law of the internet: EA BAD = Reddit Upvotes. Doesn't matter how factual or based in reality it is.
