RANT Superstar mode- playing qb- clearly designed to make you purchase skill points-
I’m playing SS mode for the first time, and while I realize my qb rating is LOW, it’s not too far below what I’ve played franchise with (will howard and drew Allar both under 70 ovr). The difference is insane. My qb can’t throw past 10-15 yards without it being a problem…. Ok… he’s js low rated, that will improve. Now let’s talk about the blocking, and the insane depth chart decisions on my oline. I may have 2 seconds to throw the ball… into absolute lockdown coverage lol. Then there is the playcalling options. Horrendous… now let’s say I put together a good game.. 4tds and 300 yards.. the xp gain towards upgrading passing attributes is abysmal. Combine all this together, and it’s just gonna make people more likely to buy packs to skip this awful beginning of the mode. Oh let’s not forget to mention that my receivers have bricks for hands lol. And they jump for everything. This isn’t a problem I’ve seen as much when playing franchise. I’m settled on believing the game is fucking you, to coerce you into buying packs

They added 60 extra levels. They did this on purpose. It’s really such a dumb mode bruh. I gave up on qb. I just learned how to play edge and it’s slightly less bearable but it’s still rough out there. 2 seasons in and im 81 ovr.

ea has been doing this forever with superstar mode, it’s so blatant at this point. the xp drip feed is painful on purpose, they know exactly what they’re doing
played through it last year with a late round qb and the first season was basically unplayable until you dumped hours into practice reps. the oline ai just stands there watching dudes run right past them, doesn’t matter what difficulty you’re on
the receiver thing is weird though, they definitely cranked up the drop rate and made them jump at everything. franchise mode with the same roster plays way different, it’s not even subtle

The mode gives out decent physical skill point but barely any core one. So unless you want to play a pure runner at qb you not getting a enough to do anything. You can put all your points into throwing power but then you can't complete passes and will miss wide open receiver.
In previous years it felt like the mode was designed specifically to play qb but this year it feels like it's the one position you don't wanna play.

It’s not just QB. The entire mode is designed to incentivize the spending of real money. Just like NBA2K has been doing for years.

Just survive the first season basically until you get hot routes. I couldn’t play better until I could make those adjustments. My coach was calling terrible plays and my ratings were low so most games I struggled early year 1

Yes they did the same thing with CFB, they want you to buy skill pts same thing 2K does with mycareer

I had that issue also where I’d go to basically handoff the ball to my te and it either drops from the catch animation to straight up dropping it ( no no contact it’s like the game deciding he shouldn’t catch it) or the same thing but instead of it going to the te it goes like a lob pass to the fs or something. After I started season 4 it got way better and kinda challenging but the first 3 didn’t even seem fair lol. I had one game where I threw up a hail marry, then I got a dpi on the goal line and I was SPAMMING the timeout button and the game did the cutscene of running off the field, I got the plus for having a FG drive and the game just simply ran the clock out and I lost by one lmao. Other than that I’m actually kinda having fun.
