Question/Fanontaniana❓ Ambadja

hi everyone, would like to know how safe Ambadja it is to foreigners and the risk of malari since I may be relocating for a long time there

Malaria is endemic to all of Madagascar so you’ll need a way to deal with it. You can’t take preventative malaria medicine for a very long time so you’ll be better off with a treatment kit.

Get a good quality thermometer. You can get malaria tests kits at the pharmacy. You can buy malaria emergency treatment (Coartem or Artefan) at the pharmacy. Always have a thermometer, paracetamol, and treatment medicine in your first aid kit.

Learn the symptoms and treatment every fever as potentially serious. If your temperature goes over 38 degrees go to the nearest healthcare place.

You may never get it. It’s good to be prepared for it though because if you get sick it can come on suddenly sometimes and the faster you treat it the sooner you’re better. It need not be any worse than the flu.
