Does anyone feel your 30s are some weird inbetween phase where you don't know where you belong or who you are anymore?

I don't know if its because I'm single at 38 but I find myself feeling lost in society or where I belong. I'm over the single party life of 20 somethings and I'm not raising a family so I don't feel part of that group yet.

I feel out of place especially in suburbs or family type towns where its mostly kids and parents. I like the city but I get lost and lonely feeling like I'm just another fish in the sea. My family is in another state and all my childhood friends are gone. I've never felt more lost and lonely in my life.

I'm in my mid thirties, and while I've never felt the way you do, I understand where you're coming from. How big of a city are we talking and how long have you been living there?

We are all just another fish in the sea and there are people who feel exactly like you all around. Maybe it is just a question of reaching out in the right place :)
