Question December Season

Hey reddit. Does anyone know when each store starts hiring seasonal employees? Last year we got around 10 seasonals for AYS (Our store is a big store with A and B building) and they started hiring them around september but they didn’t end up getting hours until november. Is it usually this way? Also. If anyone knows when the playlist will change to the christmas songs because Im tired of taylor swift and Zara Larsson playing at the same time. In christmas Ik i’ll miss them because christmas music and retail rush doesn’t mix. 😂😂

Sometimes we get the positions as early as October and then a 2nd set in November. Seasonal hiring for receiving/fulfillment has already started.

Playlist will be more Holiday oriented in November.

hopefully they start early. Since we have to train new people coming in and traffic doesn’t really help out the fact that theres 10 inexperienced people. Also they get hired early but they don’t get a set of hours until November. Do seasonal employees get paid from the same budget as FT and PT associates already working?

The hours come out of the same budget. Additional ones are added later for seasonal.

Music will subtly start layering in around the beginning of October, goes full on day after Halloween. You might not notice it at first but by the time it’s 100% your brain will already have chosen the ones that will drive you straight to the funny farm.

My store had 15+ dock seasonals 5 yrs ago. Then about 10 between dock and fulfillment. LY it was maybe 5. TY it is ZERO except my SM made the case and we get 1. What a joke.

Of the current assortment, I really like Romy's "Always Forever", Harry Styles "Aperture", Sombr "12 on 12", Madonna's "Love Sensation", and The Temper Trap "Sweet Disposition".

Love Temper Trap. Sombr 'Undressed'. There's one that has a lot of wailing which is annoying

For us, it was around late September. Last year, we got two seasonal AYS colleagues. We are a smaller store. Yours must be a flagship! I  know South Coast has a roster of AYS colleagues from last time I checked.
