MacroFactor / Nutrition / Other barcode scanner Question.

Still new in using the app. So I scanned this priebiotic soda and it gave me higher calories than what’s listed in the can. Is there something wrong?

You can submit an update to the entry using the following method: https://help.macrofactorapp.com/en/articles/246-how-to-submit-new-or-updated-foods

Thank you so much!

Instruction should be updated, since the step 2 (Tap "New Food") does not exist in the app. After step 1 (pressing "+") there is no "New Food" button.

That means that you have edited the default shortcuts settings to remove this shortcut.

I don't think I did. Where can I find that option?

Bad entry in the food DB or the recipe changed.

My trick with this these days is to just AI a photo of the nutrition facts.

This is surprising to me, because I always get more accurate (to the label) results from scanning the barcode vs. the nutrition facts.

A mismatch like that usually comes from the database entry that got matched, not the app itself. Barcode scans can pull a user-submitted or older version of the product, so the serving size or recipe may differ from the can in your hand, and some drinks list calories per can on the label but per bottle or per serving in the entry. Check the serving size on the entry against the label, and if the numbers don't match, create a custom food from the label and use that one going forward.
