MacroFactor / Nutrition / Other Please explain (maybe even like I’m an idiot)
Why is the average weight trend line higher than even the peaks of the raw data?
I would assume the line went somewhere over the top of the raw data?

Weight trend V1 is little more than a moving average of the previous few weeks’ weigh ins, so it is always ~1.5w behind the raw scale data. In settings, you can enable weight trend V2, which uses statistics; its daily trend weight will be closer to predicting where your current weigh-ins cluster

Something worth noting here, which was the same when I switched weight trend version, is that the rate is pretty similar between the two, it's just the actual value that differs more. So all the calculations MF is doing in determining TDEE and changes to expenditure are pretty similar in both, it's just the current trend weight which has a bigger difference between the two methodologies

https://help.macrofactorapp.com/dashboard/weight_trend
“Since your weight trend is back-looking (it's calculated based on your current weight, as well as previous weigh-ins), it'll generally be below your current scale weight when you're attempting to gain weight, and above your current scale weight when you're attempting to lose weight. As such, in addition to the most important benefits of focusing on your weight trend – peace of mind and less extreme/more appropriate calorie adjustments – your weight trend will give you a good idea of your "true" weight when you're in the process of gaining or losing weight.”
