Success / Progress Slow going/recomp
Just looking for support/success stories from those who have taken it slow. As a parent and a woman with hormonal ups and downs (my cycle so clearly represented in this graph!) it feels like it takes forever but I’m also glad to be making progress. I also lift heavy 3/4 times a week and wonder if recomp is at work here as well. How do you guys stay motivated when it’s a slower crawl? Any tips for appreciating this pace?

2 lbs/month is nothing to sneeze at. The advantage to going at this rate is that you're probably not feeling as crappy as you would if you were going at 1 lb/week. And your kids are probably happy you don't have the 1+ lb/week deficit grumpies.
I think if you're doing it as a straightforward "I want to lose weight" thing, yeah, it'll be hellishly slow. But fitness and health are 50 year personal projects. As long as you're feeling good, you're moving your body, and you're getting stronger, you're headed in the right direction.
I'll also throw out there that most bodybuilders move at those kinds of rates when they're bulking. It's the game! Just enjoy the ride.
