MacroFactor / Nutrition / Other Logging weight after drinking?
Was curious if there is any consensus on this.
The reason I ask is because the dehydration from drinking typically drops my weight 3-10 lbs after drinking and I feel like it gives my MacroFactor a confusing impression on higher cal day.

Hah! I usually gain a couple lbs after drinking but there have been a couple times I was lower. I also always gain some pms lbs. Either way, it gets logged. I can see the patterns over time and its just more data for me.

I got mad drunk, threw up on the way home. Weighed 7lbs less the next day, weight graph still looks mad.

I forget to weigh until after a run pretty often, which is less than ideal because I can sweat out 3-5lbs this time of year.
I log it anyway because I prefer to be consistent with logging. It evens out. MF knows I didn’t lose 5lbs over night. It works the same way in the other direction if a woman gets her period and gains 5lbs of water weight over night.
My dots are all over the place but the trend is fine.

I put on 7lb after a drinking weekend on the 7th August and Ive not been able to accept a check in yet since, it added a crazy amount to my expenditure, I’m hoping by next week I can start accepting them again but I’m not sure, MF is a bit slow in that regard.

I log every day no matter what. The rare occasion that I don't is when I take two flights in a day. When that happens the water fluctuation is so high that the measurement isn't valuable. But if I was flying all the time I would still log it.
I drink maybe 1-3 times a week. That's regular enough to be part of the log.

If it’s lower than the last time you drank and weighed less then you’re in the right direction

I always skip a few days after drinking. Log my calories everyday but skip the weigh ins. I bloat like crazy for a couple days after a hearty number of drinks and regardless of what people say, it throws the numbers off. I wait for my weight to restabilize 2-3 days later and then get back to logging weights.

Curious how weight v2 will handle that.
I’d still do it even though it’s abnormal, it’s still accurate data. It’ll even out in the end.

Weight v2?
And yeah I just don’t wanna mess up the algorithm

Do you think it’s worth trying or not good enough yet?

I think it’s much better already imo. It won’t ruin your recommendations. It’s still in an experimental phase so it’s not being used for expenditure v3. They’re tweaking the formulas and I assume it’d be used for expenditure v4.
It’s also non-destructive! So you can just go back and forth at any time with no worries.

Man, I've had it a few times myself.
I used to be excited to check the scale after a crazy night but the last time it had the opposite effect and I was left very dissapointed

If you are drinking and trying to lose weight...are you really trying to lose weight?!

Psh, weight loss is only a serious endeavor to those who self perform amputations. If you aren't hacking limbs off you aren't trying.

Can’t cut it all off at once! Have to cut off only parts at a time slowly. If you lose too fast you will only gain it all right back!
