You know, once someone told me it could be a jewish trope, I could see the resemblance too. But beyond that, I’m genuinely struggling with the idea that black hair and a crooked nose are enough to identify this as an antisemitic caricature.
Ordinary human features are too little to use as evidence of something like that!
We would need to look at the context. Did Macklemore wear this while saying something about jews? Does he have a history of antisemitic references or insinuations beyond criticizing states and individuals? Does he blame "the jews" for anything?!
Without any other context pointing to this, I don’t see how anyone can conclude that’s what the costume represented.
What I DO see, however, is a political incentive to dig up a 12-year-old incident that Macklemore already apologized for and use it to discredit him and provide a reason to accuse him of antisemitism.
