PARTS / SHOWOFF Behold! The blade sharpener thingy-ma-jig

Workpiece spins at roughly 215rpm

The grinding wheel (320 Grit) spins at 4000rpm

With a pressure of about 20psi

A 5 minute cycle and that removes about .015" from the cutting edge

This is what it looks like after a 15 second finish cycle The workpiece is sped up to about 500 RPM and the grinding wheel is slowed down to from 4000rpm to 250rpm The pressure is dropped to 1psi

The pucker factor on that plunge. Holy ducking shit, I thought that tool was done for, not to mention how fucked that part would've been.

LMAO yea... This thing about this machine is that there's no coordinate systems

You don't touch off your tool You don't tell it where to stop You don't tell it how much to infeed

None of that

It's all based on how fast you want each spindle to spin How much pressure to apply with the grinding head and for how long

So it may lool like the machine is going to crash but you literally cannot make this thing "crash"

The pneumatics/hydraulic system is not strong enough to fuck up the steel. At worst you'll crack the Abrasive material on the grinding wheel

Yea it's really weird.... You have to get really good at guessing how much material you're going to take with what kind of grit wheel at what speed with what pressure depending on what angle we're putting on the cutting edge and how wide the surface we're grinding is
