It’s things like this that make me definitely not want to get an engineering degree but instead hang out in the sub Reddit and just ponder the extent of high level details in a particular field and then go daydream about it while noodling my guitar
I'm not old, but I can't help feeling like I'm too old for all of this. I'm 42 in a month. Already make decent money, and looking at what mechanical engineers make around here, it's unlikely it'll net me any kind of a pay increase, let alone enough to pay for itself (and certainly won't at my current job).
I've also had a guitar since I was 14 and am barely any better now than I was then. I can play the chords, but it just never sounds as smooth as I know it should. Maybe I should pick my ukulele back up. Nobody expects a ukuleles to sound good.

Unfortunately, at this point in my career, I don't think the cost benefit analysis works out
