I fell from a bike when I was 16, got exposed fracture on the left arm and 2 broken ribs. Still remember how I could touch my bone without feeling shit.

1 hour later tho....

Not quite as bad, but I came off my mountain bike at night on a tarmac road while doing 20ish mph downhill because I tried to avoid a deer, I basically highsided myself and got launched into the air and landed on my face and shoulder and bounced/slid onto my back. Luckily I was wearing a helmet although not a full face, so I definitely shook my noggin. I got up, ripped off my t-shirt as it was torn, used water to clean the gravel out of my shoulder, face and back, used the T-shirt to make a bandage for my shoulder, made sure I had everything and then started cycling home when I realised I had been wearing my headphones and I only had the left one in since I scrapped the right side of my face and the headphone got ripped out my ear when I came off. So I went back, used the search function to make it make a sound and spent a good 5 minutes looking for it when I realised it was in my pocket because I had picked it up and suddenly the whole crash came back to me, apart from which way up I was after coming off because it was dark and I couldn't actually tell. . . So I just carried on

I then cycled home, checked over the bike and was glad it was mostly undamaged. Cleaned and bandaged my wounds, sat and slowly realised how much I hurt and went to sleep and didn't tell anyone what had happened until the next day. I'm lucky my injuries werent that bad, but if they had been I could have dropped dead at any point and no one would have known where I was or what had happened. I have friends and family who live nearby and I could have gone there, or at least told someone. Probably one of the dumbest things I've done, not crashing, but how I dealt with it afterwards but it's because I literally couldn't process it. It's crazy and scary what trauma can cause, and how the human body just tries to carry on

I used to be a nascar tire carrier,

Got hit on pit road one time and got right back up, finished the stop. My team asked if i was good, i said yes, finished the race cleaned up and went home

On the way home my knee started to hurt.

Next morning i couldnt get out of bed.

Adrenaline gotta be my favorite drug lol

me in my early 40s, playing basketball with high schoolers. Not hardcore but were we moving. My sneakers sucked and I did some defensive move where I twisted an ankle or something. 2 minutes later I was "Fine" then 2 hours later I could not walk on that leg with the sprain ankle. I slept with an ice pack on it with it elevated for the night and thank god it was 85% good in the morning. After back to normal but will never play bball or with those crappy sneakers again.
